Depth by reflection

Creating great landscape pictures is not a point and shoot affair.

Most landscape pictures have lost the allure, we had of the scenery at the time of picture taking.

Why?

Often landscape pictures appear flat. Somehow the camera lend seem to bring all to the same plane. That is, if we shoot 2D.

So it is important to create depth. Bring in a foreground, which will help your imagination to re-create the depth of the landscape, the dimensions of trees compared to mountains, etc..

It is like our brain renders a 3D image from the 2D plane.

Another tool is, if available, include a reflection. A lake, a river, glass, car window, a pool.

Almost by magic, your picture could become a masterpiece.
